Effective Date: June 25, 2026
This Privacy Policy applies to LocalVault (hereinafter referred to as “the App”), a local password manager created by an individual developer (hereinafter referred to as “the Service Provider”). The App is free to download with an optional one-time Pro upgrade.
The App is built on a privacy-first foundation — all your data belongs to you, and the Service Provider has no means to access it.
The App does not collect any personal information. Specifically:
The App primarily uses Apple native frameworks (SwiftUI, SwiftData, CryptoKit, Security, CloudKit, StoreKit, LocalAuthentication, etc.), all of which operate under Apple’s privacy constraints. Additionally, the leak detection feature sends anonymous queries to a third-party API (HIBP) — see the Leak Detection section for details.
The App is a local password manager. When iCloud sync is not enabled, all data you store in the App:
Among your stored data, passwords, notes, secure note content, TOTP keys, and attachment files are encrypted with AES-256-GCM before storage; titles, usernames, website URLs, and category labels are stored in plaintext (needed for search, list display, and AutoFill domain matching — do not store sensitive information in these fields).
If you choose to enable iCloud sync, encrypted data copies will be uploaded to CloudKit (see the iCloud Sync section for details).
