This Privacy Policy is designed to explain how we handle your information. Our core principle is: Your data belongs to you. We do not collect, upload, or view any of your personal recordings or related data. All processing and storage is completed on your device.
1. We Do Not Collect Any Personal Information
EchoPin is designed with your privacy as the top priority. We do not collect, store, or transmit any of the following information:
- Audio Recordings: All audio content you record (including clips and continuous recordings) is saved locally on your device only. Neither we nor any third parties can access it.
- AI Analysis Data: Sound analysis (such as voice and snoring recognition) is performed entirely on your device through Apple's SoundAnalysis framework. Your audio data never leaves your device for analysis.
- Metadata and Notes: All related information you create for recordings, such as timestamps, duration, tags, notes, favorite status, etc., is stored in your device's local database.
- Personal Identification Information: We do not request or collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other information that could be used to identify you personally.
2. Non-Personal Information We Collect
To provide and improve our services, we only process absolutely necessary information that cannot identify you personally:
- Anonymous Analytics: We may use completely anonymous, aggregated app analytics data provided by Apple (such as app crash counts, usage statistics), provided that you have agreed to share such information with app developers in your iOS system settings. This data contains no personal information and cannot be traced to specific users. We do not use any third-party tracking or analytics tools.
3. How We Use Your Information
Since we do not collect your personal information, we do not use it for any purpose. Your data is only used for the functionality you expect within the app:
- Recording, storing, and managing your audio on your device.
- Analyzing and categorizing your audio on your device.
4. Data Storage and Security
- Local Storage: All your data (audio files and database) is stored in your device's sandbox directory, protected by iOS system security.
- Your Responsibility: You bear ultimate responsibility for safeguarding your device. If your device is lost, stolen, or accessed by others, your data may be exposed. We recommend using strong passwords and biometric authentication to protect your device.
- Data Backup and Export: EchoPin provides data export functionality, and we encourage you to use this feature regularly to back up your data. Backing up data is also your responsibility.
